About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. As a Bank Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for children in our care, while ensuring a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, adhering to Bright Horizons' set menus and recipes.
  • Manage dietary requirements and ensure that all children's needs are met.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Support with other nursery activities, such as BBQs and staff meetings.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure that all necessary supplies are ordered and maintained.
  • Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents to promote a healthy and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a commercial catering environment role, preferably within childcare or care home settings.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
  • Experience of EHO interaction during Food Safety & Hygiene inspections.
  • Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
