Job Title: Healthcare Assistant/Housekeeper

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant/Housekeeper to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of personal care services to patients, including assisting with personal hygiene, moving and handling, and supporting the care team in maintaining a clean and safe environment. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene and mobility needs
  • Support the care team in maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop positive relationships with patients, families, and carers
  • Be aware of patients' needs and respect their privacy, dignity, and beliefs
  • Work as part of a team in a co-operative, professional, and constructive manner
  • Be actively involved in health promotion and education
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a basic level qualification in English and Maths or equivalent experience
  • Has comprehensive post-training experience in a healthcare setting
  • Is aware of what neonatal care involves and has experience working with babies under 3 months of age
  • Is willing to undertake further study and development
  • Has experience working in a similar role or has relevant skills and experience
