Job Title: Healthcare Assistant/Housekeeper

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant/Housekeeper to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care and support to our patients, families, and carers.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of personal care and clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional. This will include assisting with personal hygiene, supporting moving and handling, and developing positive relationships with parents, families, and carers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to patients, including assisting with personal hygiene and mobility
  • Support moving and handling, use of mobility aids, and correct positioning of patients
  • Develop positive relationships with parents, families, and carers
  • Assist with health promotion activities, such as smoking cessation and infant feeding choices
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team, prioritizing workload and developing competencies that safeguard practice and effectiveness in role
Person Specification:

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Basic level qualification in English and Maths or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive post-training experience in healthcare or a related field
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload without direct supervision
  • Basic IT, written, and verbal communication skills
