Job Summary

PATH is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Climate Change and Health Specialist. This role will play a crucial part in developing and implementing strategies that address the intersection of climate change and health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Comprehensive Strategies

Design and implement comprehensive strategies to address climate-related health challenges, including assessing climate-health vulnerabilities and impacts, identifying priority actions and solutions, and building a shared understanding and program of climate-health investments with partners.

Build Strategic Partnerships

Identify and build strategic partnerships with governmental, non-governmental, private sector, multilateral and bilateral development institutions, and other key stakeholders to enhance the impact of climate change and health programs.

Establish and Maintain Relationships

Establish and maintain relationships with governmental, non-governmental, and private sector partners to support climate and health initiatives, including developing proposals and coordinating with financial institutions to secure resources for climate and health projects.

Develop a Pipeline of Climate-Smart Projects

Develop a pipeline of climate-smart and resilient projects involving the private sector, and further strengthen PATH's program of the Accelerator for Resilience in Climate and Health (ARCH).

Coordinate Climate-Health Action Plans

Coordinate with health authorities, partners, and communities to implement climate-health action plans, including training, monitoring, and capacity-building activities.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Related Field

A Master's degree in public health, environmental health, climate science, or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.

Strong Analytical Skills

Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and interpretation, as well as proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Understanding of Climate Change Impacts

A strong understanding of climate change impacts on health and familiarity with global health financing mechanisms.
