Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Tutor to join our Supported Internship initiative. This role is a full-time position, providing a chance to be part of a collaborative and nurturing team focused on empowering young individuals with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism to navigate the workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons in English and Maths, integrating these subjects into employability training.
  • Teach essential life skills that enhance learners' interactions within their communities.
  • Design and implement creative lesson plans, with dedicated planning time allocated weekly.
  • Collaborate with team members to offer comprehensive support in securing paid employment for learners.
  • Provide instruction in accredited functional skills for both English and Mathematics.

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • A proven track record of achieving educational targets.
  • Experience working with a varied group of learners.
  • GCSE qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • A recognized teaching qualification at level 5 (e.g., DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd).
  • Knowledge of delivering and assessing functional skills up to level 2.
  • Understanding of safe working practices.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
