Job Title: Senior Buyer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our team at Get Staffed Online Recruitment. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for coordinating the purchasing of goods, raw materials, and equipment, both domestically and internationally, to ensure the company's operational needs are met.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products to identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to agree on prices, quantities, delivery schedules, and exclusivity deals.
  • Ensure all required legislation and requirements are met in line with import/export and post-Brexit regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers to drive business growth and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Oversee the administration of all agreements and contracts with suppliers.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Mentor and coach a team of buyers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Plan production schedules with MPS/MRP and monitor performance, quality, and legal compliance of suppliers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in dealing with the Far East and management of a team.
  • Experience in a similar role, including import/export and post-Brexit requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and achieve set targets.
  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers and an aptitude for figures and budget management.
  • Financial and accounting knowledge for calculating margins, gross profit, and discounts.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheets, presentation software, and other stock management software and systems.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Marketing.
  • CIPS certification.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with a requirement to attend in-person daily meetings and briefings.

Location:

This role is based in [location], with occasional travel to other sites as required.
