Job Summary

The SOX and Internal Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring a strong internal control environment through risk analysis, control development, implementation, and monitoring. This role will work to foster standardization and consistency across business processes and implement our internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Internal Control & SOX Compliance in managing SOX processes
  • Compile and issue reports detailing conclusions and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Lead internal controls reviews across the group, including scoping, preparation, risk analysis, and third-party service organization analysis
  • Guide the organization in describing processes in narratives and flowcharts
  • Design, implement, document, assess, and monitor the internal control framework, including group policies and key risks
  • Assess the adequacy and extent of programs designed to safeguard organization assets
  • Design controls with Control Owners, focusing on global harmonization and deployment to entities
  • Actively seek standardization and automation, apply best practices for managing internal controls, and deploy innovative technology to enhance and improve controls
  • Set the framework for SOX application documentation of control evidence
  • Organize and accompany walkthrough schedules for audits of internal controls, analyze feedback from auditors for improvements
  • Direct and appraise audit and compliance personnel on process level
  • Guide and support Control Owners during testing, quality reviews, and requested control documentation
  • Deliver adequate and timely reporting on the internal control framework and control deficiencies
  • Analyze deficiencies and support the Director in deploying globally remediated controls, developing relevant trainings or guidelines
  • Formulate policies and procedures to improve internal controls, compliance, and efficiency
  • Deliver adequate and timely action plans and monitor progress to address and resolve control deficiencies
  • Work collaboratively with business and process owners to implement and monitor remediation efforts
  • Serve as liaison for external audit and regulatory agencies
  • Engage with internal and external auditors to ensure consideration and resolution of relevant risks and audit findings
  • Recommend employee training and modifications to procedures as needed
  • Prepare and hold trainings for staff on internal controls and SOX
Requirements
  • Previous experience from a similar position in a multinational group or delivering similar services via a Big 4 audit firm
  • A master's degree in accounting, economics, or finance
  • Strong experience and interest in how technology and systems can support internal control effectiveness and efficiency
  • Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks, especially SOX
