Role Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to become a vital part of our Technology Operations team. This role demands a high level of technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with the Technical Systems Manager and Head of Technical Operations. Your main focus will be on delivering exceptional technical services to our clients, emphasizing infrastructure, servers, systems, communications, and services.

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will oversee and coordinate team initiatives, advocate for best practices, and ensure that service objectives are consistently achieved. You will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving intricate and high-stakes issues, as well as analyzing recurring problems to provide sustainable solutions. Furthermore, your technical acumen will be invaluable to technical teams and projects, ensuring the robustness and scalability of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve intricate technical challenges to uphold service standards, collaborating with users, staff, the Service Desk, and vendors as necessary.
  • Deliver 3rd Line technical support to operational and project teams, leveraging your expertise to address issues and promote best practices.
  • Execute complex configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of servers, storage, and communication platforms for routine changes and projects.
  • Advise on and implement standards for configurations, tools, and products.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including standards, security protocols, procedures, and configuration specifics.
  • Utilize management software and analytical tools to gather system statistics, model performance, and generate reports, including recommendations for enhancements and capacity planning.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and staff development within a technical/support team environment, with a proven ability to guide others effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing detailed reports and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to convey technical information to staff at all levels.
  • Outstanding report and documentation skills, adept at presenting information in a clear and logical manner.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills to meet project and business needs.
  • Expert technical experience across a broad range of server, storage, and networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • Thorough understanding of IT security best practices, with a solid grasp of MOD standards and accreditation processes.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Servers, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage solutions, and other infrastructure technologies in large enterprise settings.
  • Experience in supporting cloud technologies.
