Clinical Research Fellow in Advanced Radiotherapy and Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at The Christie NHS FT. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oncology and lung cancer, with experience in clinical trials and translational research.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit patients for clinical trials, analyze data, and present findings
- Conduct translational research in collaboration with CRUK National Biomarker Work
- Be involved in the clinical management of lung cancer patients receiving radiotherapy
- Interact with allied research teams and supervise entry and treatment of patients in clinical studies
- Support the Lung Cancer Research Team in the delivery of clinical trials and research projects
- Undertake projects related to radiotherapy-related research, including patient recruitment, data analysis, protocol development, and grant writing
- Produce high-impact peer-reviewed publications and disseminate research findings through presentations at seminars and conferences
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Postgraduate qualifications in medicine, such as the MRCP or equivalent
- FRCR or equivalent
- GMC registration
- General oncology training
- Experience in oncology and lung cancer
- Experience in clinical trials and translational research
- Experience of working in an academic environment
- Ability to work with the multidisciplinary team
- Overview of governance, ethics, and other regulatory issues
- Knowledge in the management of patients with cancer
- Knowledge of cancer research
- Developments in oncology practice
The Christie NHS FT is a world-leading cancer centre with a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. Our team comprises 9 Consultants, 2 Sub-specialty Trainees, and 2 Clinical Fellows, supported by a team of 4 Clinical Nurse Specialists. We are a friendly, hard-working team focused on delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

Our team has access to a National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Facility on-site, which provides a dedicated unit for treating patients on trials and a research laboratory for processing clinical data.
We are part of a larger research community, collaborating with world-leading researchers in RT immunology, radiobiology, biomarkers, pre-clinical drug RT combination studies, RT physics, computational oncology, and Proton Beam Therapy.
