About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide companionship and support to a gentleman in his mid-fifties who has a mild learning disability. This role involves facilitating social activities and ensuring the individual enjoys a fulfilling and engaging lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accompany the gentleman to various activities of his choice, such as local sports events and music gatherings.
  2. Provide transportation to and from these events, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
  3. Assist with weekly shopping trips and other social outings, promoting independence while offering necessary support.
  4. Build a trusting and respectful relationship to ensure the gentleman feels secure and enjoys his time.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with individuals on a personal level. A background in support work or a related field is beneficial.

Additional Information

DBS and reference checks will be conducted for this position, with costs covered by the local authority.
