Role Summary:

We are looking for a Quality Assurance and Practice Supervisor to join our Supported Living team, which aids individuals with Learning Disabilities and autism across multiple residences in the Lowestoft area. Collaborating closely with our Director and Service Manager, you will ensure that our Supported Living team adheres to relevant social care quality standards, including CQC regulations, Local Authority guidelines, and Leading Lives' internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular compliance and quality audits, including spot checks.
  • Maintain and update care documentation, medication records, and health & safety files, providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Ensure that customer service requirements align with the company's customer charter.
  • Adhere to GDPR regulations, maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Oversee local auditing of GDPR practices to ensure compliance.
  • Draft and revise manual handling risk assessments.
  • Foster effective communication with the management team to build positive relationships.
  • Create personal risk assessments for customer support plans.
  • Act as a mentor, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in developing plans, care certificates, and witness testimonials for RQF.
  • Evaluate customer needs and requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions with families.

What We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. You will be responsible for welcoming and supporting new staff, ensuring they have a positive onboarding experience. You should have a solid understanding of best practices in care and support, particularly concerning the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Best Interest Decisions for individuals lacking capacity.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a care setting, particularly with individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Familiarity with health and safety legislation and quality assurance practices.
  • Knowledge of GDPR requirements and legal standards in health and social care.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a busy workload effectively.
  • Competence in total communication and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
  • Proficient IT skills and good numerical abilities.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
