About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse environment, utilizing your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies and practices, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and implement best practices across multiple EU sites.

A Day in the Life:

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineer, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any equipment issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring our sites' equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will also have the opportunity to suggest long-term improvements, driving innovation and excellence in your work.

Working with Our Team:

You will work closely with senior colleagues, undertaking day-to-day maintenance tasks and collaborating with contractors when external expertise is required. To ensure our sites are supported around the clock, you will work on a range of shifts, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About Our Team:

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We handle a wide range of tasks, from installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general maintenance and repairing key distribution equipment. Our team often works during early or late hours to minimize disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements:

  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ).
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng.
  • Experience in condition-based monitoring.
  • Experience working with print and apply machines.
  • Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
