About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and implement best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineer, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible.

You will work closely with senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks, such as painting and plumbing, and will liaise with contractors when external expertise is required. You will work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. Some of our team members are leaders, overseeing the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon.

We handle most aspects of Amazon's technical side, including installing automated packaging systems, overseeing general maintenance of a site, and repairing key distribution equipment. We also ensure our buildings are legally compliant, keeping everyone safe and our sites operating at maximum efficiency. There are many opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.

Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers receive their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
