Environmental Associate

Job Title: Environmental Associate

Working Pattern: 4 day week, Monday-Thursday

Are you a seasoned, adaptable, and practical-focused Environmental professional looking to contribute to a forward-thinking, multinational company? Executive Network Group is recruiting for an Environmental Associate, with the opportunity to represent a leading-edge organization. The role will be focused on supporting and encouraging operations personnel to ensure compliance with relevant company and statutory environmental-related requirements. You will also take a lead role in actively helping to retain the business's ISO14001 Environmental certification, whilst playing a key role in promoting a proactive environmental management culture on site that helps to minimize environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising awareness with respective site departments regarding the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice.
  • Respond proactively to environmental incidents, track incidents and actions to closure, and perform investigations to identify root causes.
  • Work with the operations team to deliver environmental objectives in line with company requirements.
  • Promote a positive culture amongst the workforce by encouraging active participation in environmental initiatives and be the subject matter expert in all environmental-related activities.
  • Review environmental aspects and impacts for works onsite and advise on appropriate controls as and when required.
  • Provide support to the COMAH Environmental Safety Report for all site activities employing CDOIF guidelines, ensuring the site cannot cause a Major Accident to the Environment (MATTE).
  • Manage flora, fauna & ecology aspects across site, which include identification of potential ecological constraints and enhancement opportunities.
  • Assist in the ability to implement EMS in operations to prevent pollution and ensure suitable processes and procedures are in place taking account of relevant standards.
  • Develop environmental strategies across all areas of the site.

Essential Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Environmental NEBOSH
  • Proven experience working with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
  • Experience with environmental risk assessments
  • Environmental Degree/Diploma
