About the Role
The HR Business Partnering and Operations team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Officer to support the Family Care Corporate and DERI Divisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of the HR Operations team and wishes to develop a career within HR.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working within HR, is a confident communicator, proactive and self-motivated, but most importantly we are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do. In return, you will be given the opportunity to develop and grow as a HR professional within a compassionate and inclusive team.
The role is an agile one, which will include home working and working across Trust sites.
Main Responsibilities
As an HR Officer, you will be assisting in providing operational support, advice and guidance to managers and staff on the full range of HR matters, including sickness absence and local terms and conditions to managers and staff throughout Family Care, Corporate and DERI Divisions.

Key Requirements
- Certification in Human Resource Practice - CIPD Foundation qualification in HR (Level 3) or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
- GCSE at Grade 5 / C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Previous experience of working within Human Resources or equivalent knowledge
- Experience applying HR policy and practice to practical situations, or equivalent knowledge
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of consultation with Trade Unions
- Delivery of training
- Experience of working in the NHS
Key Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of employment practices, HR Policies and Procedures
- Computer skills including experience in the use of databases, Word, PowerPoint and Excel evidenced by the ability to produce reports and tables and present statistical information in a clear format
- Up to date knowledge of Employment Law
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel to other sites or external meetings as required
