We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team at Manchester City Council. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the development of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- To assist in the coordination of referrals, identifying Early Help Interventions and coordinating actions as required, in partnership with local agencies and stakeholders.
- To promote positive attitudes towards education and ensure parents/carers are aware of their statutory duties, through effective communication and engagement.
- To promote community cohesion, empowering parents/carers and establishing them as partners in the education process.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in a related field, such as social work or education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents/carers, children, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including the Children Act 1989 and the Education Act 1996.
