Job Description

TP ICAP is a leading provider of market infrastructure, connecting clients to global financial and commodities markets. We are seeking a skilled Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR team.

Role Overview

This is a 6-9 months fixed term contract, partnering with HR and business managers to deliver a proactive employee relations offering. As a trusted advisor, you will provide consistent and clear guidance on Employee Relations (ER) issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disciplinary Matters and Formal Complaints: Manage internal processes, prepare and review case-related documentation, work with independent hearing officers, and draft outcome letters.
  • Employee Relations Guidance: Provide direction to HR Business Partners on end-to-end employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, conduct matters, redundancies, settlement agreements, exit discussions, and sickness absence process.
  • Process Consistency and Risk Management: Ensure consistency of process and outcomes when managing employee-related risk through the documentation and review of toolkits and guidance.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training for independent hearing officers, HRBPs, managers, and employees.
  • Problem Resolution and Support: Provide problem resolution/support to HR Business Partners, HR leadership team, and business leaders for all complex ER matters.
  • Relationship Management: Ensure the relationship between TP ICAP and its employees is managed appropriately, identifying key risks to the business and to the HR leadership team.
  • Policy Development: Support policy development in line with best practice, legal requirements, and in support of strategic objectives.
  • Committee Meetings: Convene and facilitate internal Committee meetings.
  • Culture Promotion: Promote a progressive culture through the management of ER cases.
  • Relationship Management: Effectively manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, working closely with and ensuring that functional boundaries are acknowledged and adhered, particularly with Compliance and Legal functions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide the HR global leadership team with regular updates and oversee the production of statistical reporting.
  • Collaboration and Review: Collaborate with control partners on all aspects of conduct management, receiving and reviewing management information relating to breaches and trends, and considering this information when reviewing conduct.
Requirements
  • Employment Law Knowledge: Sound understanding of employment law and the practical application in managing employee-related risk.
  • ER Experience: Significant hands-on experience of dealing with ER matters such as misconduct, employee grievances, employee sickness/health & wellbeing, performance management, employment disputes, within a Financial Services environment.
  • Business Restructuring: Experience in dealing with business restructuring such as headcount reduction, TUPE, office moves, etc.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with stakeholders within and outside of the immediate department 'to get the job done'. Personable and engaging, can deliver difficult messages in a composed and empathetic manner.
  • Relationship Building: Builds relationships and networks in order to be the trusted advisor. Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution.
  • Adaptability and Pressure Management: Ability to work with diverse groups/personalities, think around a situation, and pull together many strands with the policy at the forefront of the decision. Shows evidence of being comfortable working in fast-paced or pressured environments.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interacts confidently without being overbearing. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment. Keeps emotions under control in difficult situations. Handles feedback constructively.
