Position Overview

The Healthcare Education Coordinator will oversee the daily functions within the Medical Education Division, focusing on designated care groups. This role involves providing leadership, direction, and support for both undergraduate and postgraduate educational initiatives within these groups. The position is accountable for the management of medical education reporting, as well as ensuring the quality and governance of the educational services provided.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a proactive and adaptable professional, capable of collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the broader Medical Education Team, and various departments across the organization. As a manager and problem-solver, the individual will be responsible for executing quality assurance, governance, strategic, financial, and operational tasks within their portfolio and across the division. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential to foster collaboration with clinical care groups, aiming to position East Kent as the preferred educational provider in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support medical education services across designated care groups, ensuring comprehensive planning, delivery, and evaluation of educational activities, training programs, and professional development for medical students and junior doctors.
  2. Provide expert knowledge and guidance on matters related to medical education.
  3. Implement data collection and reporting processes necessary for quality assurance and the development of training services.
  4. Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with fellow Medical Education Coordinators.
  5. Build networks with stakeholders and partners throughout the organization.
  6. Facilitate a diverse range of training programs and complex educational initiatives, identifying training opportunities and coordinating projects.
  7. Work towards enhancing the sustainability of the Medical Education Division.
  8. Collaborate with clinical leadership teams to ensure effective joint efforts in achieving educational action plans and care group service delivery objectives.
  9. Prepare and present reports for leadership teams, boards, business and quality meetings, local faculty groups, and performance evaluations.
  10. Manage all operational, financial, budgeting, marketing, procurement, and personnel activities as required.
