We are seeking a product manager to join our retirement portfolio team. This role focuses on ensuring that individuals over the state pension age can effectively plan for and access the support necessary to live without undue hardship. You will be part of a high-profile, complex team, managing one of our key products related to citizen records and their migration.
Your responsibilities will include making evidence-based strategic and tactical product decisions and determining key priorities. You will play an active role in shaping the product strategy, owning the roadmap, and communicating successes to stakeholders and users while also justifying challenging decisions regarding your product.
Key Responsibilities
As a product manager at DWP, you will be expected to:
- Comprehend and Communicate the Mission: Understand the overarching mission and articulate how the problems you address contribute to achieving our service objectives.
- Product Management: Ensure the team designs and develops products in alignment with service standards established by the Central Data and Digital Office (CDDO) and the internal DWP service standard assurance team.
- User-Centric Approach: Represent the voice of all users (both citizens and businesses) during discussions with teams and stakeholders.
- Define Product Objectives and Metrics: Establish clear goals and collaborate with others to determine how success will be measured.
- Agile Methodology: Adapt to a fast-paced, evolving, Scaled Agile environment, employing an iterative approach to facilitate rapid delivery.

Salary Information
Compensation for this role ranges from £52,412 to £63,517.
Offers to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of skills and experience demonstrated during the interview process.
Current Civil Servants transferring laterally will maintain their existing salary.
Civil Servants promoted may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or receive a 10% salary increase, whichever is greater.
