Construction Site Supervisor

An engaging opportunity for a Construction Site Supervisor with a reputable commercial refurbishment contractor.

The Role

This position is ideal for an individual who thrives under pressure and can effectively manage their own tasks.

You will be a proactive self-starter, capable of communicating effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors at all levels.


Your background should include experience in supervising or participating in interior fit-out and/or construction projects, with the ability to oversee all onsite operations daily, providing updates to the project manager or administrative team.

Given the nature of work for some clients, security clearances may be required.


We are expanding our team to accommodate increasing workloads, and the role may necessitate overnight stays during the week, with hotel accommodations and subsistence provided.

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Site Supervisor, you will adopt a 'step-up, step-down' approach to collaborate within a team, ensuring all practical aspects of a project are managed to exceed client expectations.

This will encompass:

Pre-contract:
Conducting surveys and assisting with the implementation of the Health & Safety plan.

Construction Phase:

  • Site setup and preparation
  • Completing daily site documentation (Inductions / Permits / Audits / Inspections)
  • Maintaining project timelines, scheduling, and monitoring materials and labor to ensure seamless operations and high productivity, liaising with clients, authorities, and subcontractors as necessary.
  • Supervising subcontractors, managing contracts, controlling variations (including communicating implications to costs and schedules), and conducting progressive snagging (appraisal and application)
  • Collaborating with the project manager and stakeholders
  • Participating in site meetings with project manager/client representatives
  • Comfortable overseeing various aspects of carpentry, partitioning, ceiling installation, and general construction skills to meet project needs.
Key Skills Required

  • Proficient in PC applications – MS Word, MS Excel (MS Project is a plus)
  • Effective communicator – both written and verbal
  • Qualification in Health and Safety site supervision and relevant site experience, SMSTS qualification
  • Completion of a First Aid course
  • Able to creatively solve problems and prioritize tasks

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction and/or interior contracting.
