As Site Manager, you will be a key member of our Operational Team, responsible for the successful delivery of Overhead Line Projects. Site Manager – Responsibilities
* Responsible for on-site project delivery across projects of different scale, complexity and duration and for managing the technical aspects of the OHL projects
* Oversee the daily management of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) issues involving staff and subcontractors under your supervision on projects, report SHEQ incidents and conduct investigations as required by internal procedures and client protocols.
* Develop and maintain project-specific documentation, such as Construction Phase Plans, Quality Plans, and Emergency Plans. Prepare Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments related to the works, and review those submitted by subcontractors.
* Provide technical support and productivity guidelines to the Bids department during tender preparation, ensuring safe and efficient delivery solutions.
* Collaborate with the Design department on all technical aspects of construction work, prepare material requirements and schedules for submission to the Procurement department.
* Manage supervisory resources assigned to projects, including Engineers and General Foremen, ensuring they are fully briefed on their duties throughout the project.
* Plan, coordinate, and manage the necessary resources (labour, plant, and materials) to complete works efficiently and in compliance with regulations, regularly monitoring project progress and productivity, and report updates to the Project Manager or Project Planner.
* Ensure adequate supervision of all subcontractors, including those involved in scaffolding, temporary roadways, underground work, civil works, access, accommodation, and security.
* Provide day-to-day management and support to reporting staff, including timely input and approval of timesheets and expenses - address personnel and employee issues with the support of the Human Resources department.
* Promote company values and standards, demonstrating behaviour aligned with the company's ethos.
* Manage and coordinate the requirements for any client-specific safety documentation, such as permits and certificates.
* Chair weekly site meetings with staff and sub-contractors.
Compliance and Standards:
* Adhere to and contribute to the implementation of the company's certification standards, including OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, by complying with: H&S Policy, Quality Policy and Environmental Policy
* Operate within established company policies and procedures, ensuring to exhibit safety, integrity, and commitment at all times.
* Carry out additional duties as necessary to meet the evolving needs of the business and customer requirements.
Site Manager – Requirements
* An extensive knowledge of construction methodologies within the electricity transmission industry
* Competency to work OHL projects - 132kV to 400kV
* Knowledge of current legislation relating to health, safety and the environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, working within budget and to programme timescales.
* Ability to work within a team environment including clients, designers, H&S advisers, site staff, quantity surveyors and estimators.
* IT literate, specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Project and Excel.
* TWC qualification, NEBOSH Construction, Environmental Qualifications
* HSG47
* Impressed Voltage training, CDM Regulations, Waste Management & PCSM knowledge
