Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operational and Technical Manager to join our team at PRS. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Module Maintenance engineering team and overseeing all aspects of HR related to the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line Management: Provide leadership and guidance to the Module Maintenance engineering team, ensuring the delivery of best practice selection, training, and assessment.
  • HR Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of HR pertaining to the team employees, including provision of leadership, advice, coaching, and direct support.
  • Training and Development: Ensure eLearning is completed and fully up to date for yourself and the team, and review, maintain, and schedule role and business-specific training for yourself and the engineers within the team.
  • Contract Management: Manage the supply chain, including sub-contractors and suppliers, and ensure appropriate control systems to meet policy and contractual commitments (KPIs).
  • Reporting and Compliance: Manage and submit monthly reports and compliance information to the Account Manager, and provide technical and operational support and advice to the engineering team.
  • WIP Management: Manage WIP, including scheduling works, access arrangements, completion of works, answering financial queries, and updating the overall financial WIP report with the support of the Lead Contract Support.
  • Escalation and Compliance: Resolve escalations from the Helpdesk and the client within reasonable time, ensuring compliance documents, contract logbooks are fully up to date and audit-ready.
  • Asset Management: Co-ordinate and manage the maintenance and uptime of assets and critical plant for site, ensuring any changes in services are communicated to all stakeholders with immediate effect.
  • Operational Events: Ensure that significant operational events are reported to building leads & estates team as soon as possible, implementing plans to mitigate any risk which may have impact to science.
  • Technical Support: Resolve technical issues, working collaboratively with the Hard Services Manager, by providing assistance and support to the engineering team or arranging for specialist sub-contractor attendance.
  • Business Development: Generate extra works through site walk-arounds and communication with engineers, helpdesk, and sub-contractors, and aid the Account Manager in Forecast Document updates monthly.
  • CAFMSupport: Support in the management of the CAFM Explorer System and reporting, and attend and actively participate in weekly Webquote meetings with the Account Manager and Customer.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, with strong leadership and management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the engineering team and other stakeholders. They will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
