About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Cellular Pathology Department, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine pathological samples using various technologies and report or present results as appropriate.
  • Work in different sections of the department to gain knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients.
  • Communicate information related to patient management and care to colleagues, healthcare staff, and other organizations.
About Us

Our department provides a range of services, including Histopathology, Andrology, Immunohistochemistry, Muscle, Molecular, Non-Gynae Cytology, and mortuary services. We are a well-equipped and innovative department, with a strong focus on quality and patient care.

Requirements
  • HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • IBMS approved degree.
  • Evidence of participation in CPD.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Already working towards the IBMS Specialist Diploma.
  • Service improvement experience.
  • Teaching and training skills.
Working Conditions

The post holder will work in a laboratory environment, with occasional exposure to potentially infectious pathological samples and other risks. The role will involve light to moderate physical effort and may require the post holder to sit or stand at the bench for prolonged periods.
