Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Operative to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our facilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Distribute and assist with deliveries of linen in the Linen Room
  • Help with patient flow and movement of equipment around the hospital as a Porter
  • Clean wards and departments, and serve tea, coffee, and food to patients as part of Domestic Duties
  • Remove and segregate waste as part of Environmental Services
  • Work in the kitchen alongside the Catering team

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Is flexible and adaptable
  • Has good basic education, including reading and writing, and basic numeric skills
  • Has customer service training (or is willing to complete it within 6 months)
