Job Summary
Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic support to children, young people, and their parent-carers in educational settings.
- Work in partnership with education settings to introduce or develop their whole-school approach to mental health.
- Give timely advice to school and college staff, and liaise with external specialist services, to help children and young people get the right support and stay in education.
Requirements
- Direct experience of working with evidence-based therapies in child mental health.
- Strong understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with education settings and external partners.
