Role Overview:

As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in enhancing our compensation and benefits framework. Your expertise in pension management will be vital in ensuring that our offerings are both competitive and aligned with our strategic objectives. In this position, you will serve as the primary resource for pension-related inquiries, collaborating closely with various stakeholders, including external partners and trustees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Reward and People Operations team in executing significant reward initiatives and providing ongoing support.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and job evaluations in accordance with our compensation framework, supporting annual benefit renewals and the pay cycle.
  • Engage in regular project activities that align with our overarching People and Culture strategy.
  • Oversee pension administration, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and effective coordination with our external pension provider.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, representing the company at Trustee meetings to facilitate effective communication.
  • Monitor the cash allowance scheme and stay informed about legislative changes affecting lifetime and annual allowances, as well as auto-enrollment processes.
  • Support the budgeting and management of pension-related costs, collaborating with providers on business planning.
  • Work with advisors to enhance member communications and improve our online platform.
  • Coordinate member pension consultations, including the preparation and management of project plans.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices, including monitoring communications from the civil service pension scheme.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with the outsourced provider and relationship managers to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Prepare quarterly updates for employers and present at trustee board meetings.
  • Provide clear guidance and support to employees throughout their lifecycle, addressing queries related to new joiners, annual allowances, and more.
  • Calculate benefit entitlements for various scenarios, including retirements and terminations.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of our pension schemes among employees.

Required Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:

  • Experience in a reward or pension environment, with a solid understanding of compensation practices.
  • In-house experience with Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with UK occupational pensions, regulations, and HMRC requirements, with a willingness to learn about Civil Service pension arrangements.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to address issues and queries promptly.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work with colleagues, trustees, and external partners.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Professional qualifications, such as PMI certification, are preferred.
