About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Head Office Underwriting Department at NFU Mutual. As an Engineering Insurance Underwriter, you will play a key role in shaping our engineering insurance strategy and contributing to the company's growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing underwriting strategies for our engineering insurance offering
  • Establishing rules, terms, and risk features to manage insurance risk and achieve profit and growth objectives
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to set growth targets and define risk appetite
  • Reviewing and providing expert judgement on risk rates to ensure accurate and informed decision-making
  • Analysing management information to identify opportunities for improving our underwriting strategy

About You

We are looking for a professional with a wealth of Underwriting or Broker experience in Engineering Breakdown Insurance. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of the Engineering Insurance market and excellent understanding of its performance drivers
  • Negotiation and influencing skills, with experience collaborating with stakeholders
  • Effective communication style and ability to present information to different audiences
  • High level of data literacy and ability to translate data into actionable insights
