Advanced Practitioner Sonographer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and experienced ultrasound team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer, you will be based at Broomfield Hospital, a busy District General Hospital, with rotation to two local Community Hospitals.
Main DutiesYou will be responsible for providing a high-quality ultrasound service, including antenatal ultrasound services, general, small parts, paediatric, DVT, and MSK scanning. You will also provide support to the Early Pregnancy Unit, Urology, and Gynae clinics, and work alongside consultant radiologists on the Emergency Floor, scanning emergency and urgent inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities- To ensure the highest professional occupational standards are maintained at all times, using a high level of specialist knowledge in line with local, regional, and national guidelines where appropriate.
- To work autonomously performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetrics, and gynaecology.
- To provide accurate dating based on fetal ultrasound measurements in the pregnant woman, crucial to the calculation and confirmation of the expected date of delivery, and for the planning of antenatal care and tests.
- To participate in the provision of a screening service to detect fetal abnormalities, monitor growth in the at-risk fetus, and manage the multiple pregnancy.
Education & Qualification
Essential
- HCPC or NMC Registration
- Higher qualification in US practice (Masters / PGC)
- Additional specialist courses

- Experience in small parts / DVT / MSK scanning
