About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radioactive Waste Administrator to join our team at AWE. As a key member of our Waste Services Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of radioactive waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Waste Review and Sentencing: You will be responsible for reviewing and sentencing radioactive waste, ensuring compliance with third-party waste acceptance criteria.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate compliance and administer resources to realize the export of radioactive waste.
  • Record Keeping and Storage: You will create, maintain, and securely store lifetime records associated with radioactive waste.
  • Consignment and Transportation: You will generate accurate consignment paperwork and review approvals from receiving sites prior to exporting radioactive waste.
  • Health, Safety, and Security: You will maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
Requirements
  • Education and Skills: A good standard of basic education and strong numeracy skills are essential.
  • Experience: Experience working with nuclear waste is beneficial but not essential. Experience utilizing a database to interpret and manipulate information is also desirable.
  • Reporting and Presentation: You will be able to collate and present information in structured reports.
  • Security Clearance: You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
