Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of inorganic Lithium chemical products, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support their production facilities. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will provide high-quality electrical engineering services, perform day-to-day plant upkeep, and support new and existing pilot plant work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, Chemical Engineers, and Senior Control Systems Engineer to develop and implement new electrical and mechanical engineering projects, including production methods, process flow, and equipment selection.
  • Lead preventative, reactive, and scheduled maintenance regimes for plant equipment and electrical systems across multiple sites.
  • Manage minor and medium-sized electrical and mechanical engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe operation of production plant and equipment, including production process troubleshooting and identifying electrical and mechanical improvements.
  • Review and implement risk assessments, supervise contractors, and report on Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality-related issues.
  • Maintain stock of components, fittings, spares, and liaise with suppliers.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum Level 5 NVQ or higher in Electrical Installations and 18th edition qualification.
  • At least 1-year electrical installations experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial process and controls, PLC systems, and fault finding.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to fault find quickly and efficiently.
  • Good understanding of technical diagrams and drawings.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ability to coach others.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques.
  • Knowledge of welding processes (TiG & MiG and brazing).
  • Knowledge of fluid power.
  • ATEX (CompEx) awareness or qualified.
  • Knowledge of chiller units and compressed air systems.
  • IOSH certification.
  • Confined space training.
  • Forklift and MEWP operation.
