London, Greater London, United Kingdom CHUBB Full time
Job Title: International Wording Specialist, Cyber

Chubb is seeking a highly skilled International Wording Specialist to join our Cyber division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing policy wordings to maintain our competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop standard Chubb template wordings and endorsements, including scheme and bespoke wordings, clause banks, policy format, and presentation layout.
  • Review, negotiate, and achieve agreement to insurance documentation.
  • Review all scheme and broker "initiative" policy forms in conjunction with the COG regions.
  • Keep abreast of market wording developments.
  • Work with COG regions to localise wordings and endorsements.
  • Take referrals from COG regions to sign off deviations to Chubb standard wordings and endorsements.
  • Deal with ad-hoc requests from COG regions in relation to wording and coverage issues.
  • Maintain records and reports relating to wording matters, including diary of outstanding issues.
  • Negotiate and liaise with brokers, other underwriting staff, and Chubb employees, where required.
  • Provide training to underwriters on wording-related issues, where required.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the central wording's repository.
  • Involve in ad-hoc information requests/projects related to the relevant bank of wordings.
  • Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards.
  • Represent Chubb at Industry Associations, including as the IUA/LUG.

This is a unique position that requires a strong technical skillset and prior experience in managing and drafting policy language. If you have experience of drafting or wording policy documentation within an underwriting or legal environment, we would love to hear from you.

This role would ideally suit a candidate from an underwriting, legal, or claims background with a strong technical skillset and prior experience in managing and drafting policy language. You will be responsible for continuously developing and reviewing the suite of core template cyber and technology policy wordings to maintain their competitive advantage.

We are open to discussing flexible working options. The successful candidate will be based in the London office but will have flexibility to work from other COG offices globally on occasion with management consent. There is also the possibility of travel to other COG regions where required.

Significant experience of a technical nature is required with product line bias. Experience of coaching others is also preferred. ACII or progression towards ACII is preferred. In-depth knowledge of cyber wordings and clear grasp of the challenges posed by cyber risks, including volatility in coverage, systemic event coverage, market uncertainty, and possible litigation from unclear language drafting, is essential.

Knowledge of insurance business, markets, and general insurance-related terminology is also required. Knowledge of law and ability to check sound legally approved policy forms and communicate them to underwriters is essential. Strong communication skills and high attention to detail are required as the wording specialist individual will be responsible for articulating coverages, clauses, and policy intent to brokers and underwriters.

Understanding of clauses and terminology, ability to explain complex topics concisely, and ability to draft reports and plans for internal and external audiences are also essential.
