Senior Wording and Technical Specialist

The Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wording and Technical Specialist to join the BSI Team. This role involves managing and drafting wordings for Financial Lines Products, collaborating with Business Unit leaders, Chief Underwriting Officer BSI, and Senior Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Policy Wording Development: Develop and control policy wordings across all lines of BSI business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaboration and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with underwriters to ensure quality assurance, reviewing and revising policy wordings as needed.
  • Industry Awareness: Maintain awareness of legal and industry developments impacting policy coverage, staying up-to-date on relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Product Development: Assist in product development, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure effective and compliant policy wordings.
  • Training and Support: Provide technical training and act as a reference point for underwriting staff, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage policy wordings.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Degree educated with relevant work experience in Financial Lines Products, preferably in a similar role.
  • Project Management: Experience managing projects and drafting underwriting policy wordings, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead, influence, and build relationships at all levels, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
