About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Supplier Manager to join our Systems Design Team at BAE Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the software design activities of external software suppliers to ensure they meet customers' requirements and standards.
  • Work closely with the ESS Systems Integration test, Software development, Hardware and Operations teams to improve efficiency and quality of the FESS.
  • Provide feedback to the team leader to ensure optimal operation and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyse, solve and communicate complex technical problems and solutions.
  • Collaborate with a creative and agile approach, with a passion for innovation and problem solving, and a logical and analytical approach to work.

Requirements:

  • Strong engineering background.
  • Experience of system and software application design and architecture principles.
  • Understanding of modelling techniques and tools (UML, Enterprise Architect, XML/XSD).
  • Experience of requirements analysis, elaboration and management tools (Rational DOORS).
  • Experience of using configuration and version control tools (Rational ClearCase, Git).
  • HNC/HND in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with database technologies (Oracle, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience of software application builds and deployment.
