Fire Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Manager to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates and Facilities leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of fire safety services across our sites.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Trust's fire compliance functions, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and NHS requirements.
- Lead projects aimed at maintaining and improving fire safety equipment, including budget management for fire safety compliance works and fire safety remedial works.
- Oversee the management of the Trust workforce in critical areas, including fire safety training, fire evacuation strategy, fire safety management, and capital investment programmes.
- Set and maintain standards for operating governance, risk, and compliance procedures, and develop, implement, monitor, and review operational policies.
- Identify new and emerging risks, and address these risks through effective risk management.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a Level 5 Diploma in Fire Safety & Risk Management, significant advanced practical knowledge and experience in a technical fire safety role, and a strong understanding of HTM guidance, CLG guidance, and Building Regulations guidance. The ideal candidate will also have experience at a senior level in the management of fire safety in a complex organisation, and excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
