About the Opportunity

This role is based in London, United Kingdom, and reports to the Manager of Policy. This newly established position will support the Walk Free team by conducting in-depth research on the scope, characteristics, and responses to modern slavery globally, translating findings into advocacy efforts directed at government entities, the private sector, investors, and community leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on significant issues and policies related to modern slavery, focusing on global trends and specific regions as needed.
  • Oversee region-specific research and advocacy efforts, particularly in alignment with the Walk Free strategy.
  • Manage and support various Walk Free projects effectively.
  • Prepare and write background documents, briefings, reports, talking points, opinion pieces, and speeches addressing critical issues and new policy developments concerning modern slavery.
  • Develop and maintain essential relationships for project delivery, including managing regional stakeholder interactions.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including managing inquiries and communications.
  • Represent Walk Free at various forums and events.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a data-driven mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to convert complex research into compelling advocacy.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Proven experience in social policy initiatives.
  • Experience in legislative and policy research, as well as drafting advocacy materials.
  • Demonstrated capability to build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, ensuring that initiatives are informed by expert insights and supported by coalitions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including project management capabilities.
  • Experience in international and/or cross-cultural environments.
  • A Bachelor's degree in international relations, international development, human rights, or a related field; a Master's degree is highly regarded.
