Shop Supervisor

Job Summary:

The RSPCA Preston & District branch is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our charity shop. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the shop, achieving sales targets, and promoting the work of the RSPCA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management: Ensure the shop is run efficiently and effectively, adhering to branch policies and procedures.
• Sales and Profit Targets: Meet agreed sales targets and minimize direct costs to maximize profit.
• Staff and Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers to achieve shop targets.
• Stock Management: Process donated stock to agreed standards and timescales, minimizing stock loss.
• Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained, promoting the shop and the RSPCA.
• Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with branch health and safety policies, including fire safety, risk assessments, and security procedures.
• Reporting and Administration: Complete annual appraisals, conduct one-to-one review meetings, and ensure all relevant administration is completed within agreed timescales.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in retail operations management, preferably in a charity shop environment.
• Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Education: Relevant qualifications in retail management or a related field.
