Associate Director, Capital Markets Development

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Capital and Financial Markets Development team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Director, CFMD in the development of financial and capital markets in the EBRD's countries of operation.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Director, CFMD in the design and implementation of policy dialogue with relevant stakeholders to promote capital markets and financial sector development.
- Assist in the coordination of development activities in line with comparative advantages in relation to the relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the Bank in international policy forums and initiatives when appropriate.
- Support product innovation by assisting the EBRD's Banking colleagues in designing specific banking transactions with capital market, financial sector and local currency relevance.
- Liaise with EBRD's Treasury Department to strengthen synergies between CFMD activities and EBRD's own treasury operations.
- Support the design and coordination of TC projects with internal and external counterparts to support reforms or specific transactions in the financial sector or capital markets.
- Participate in the organisation of conferences, workshops and seminars on specific topics relating to the Bank's CFMD strategy.
- Support the preparation of strategies, policies and diagnostic tools across the various EBRD activities, countries and sectors.
- Manage the Bank's involvement in multi-stakeholder processes involving other IFIs and financial institutions.
- Responsible for the engagement and effective overall management of a small team.
- Academic qualifications: Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting and related fields or relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience working with a wide range of financial and/or capital market products.
- Experience in local currency and capital market product design.
- Knowledge of the various market and/or policy participants in the global capital/financial markets.
- Experience of working with fragile financial systems.
- Knowledge on how the design and implementation of national policies are carried out to ensure financial stability or financial and capital markets' development.
- Proven project management experience, preferably related to financial sector development in transition economies.
- Line management experience in managing small teams.
