Memory Nurse Specialist

The successful candidate will have a key role in the on-going assessment, treatment, and support to people with dementia, their carers, and relatives. They will collaborate with members of the integrated older peoples' community mental health teams and provide professional advice and support where required.
Main Duties of the Job- Management of caseload - clinical
- Exercise good personal time management, punctuality, and consistent reliable attendance
- Participate in the team across the Memory Service
- Supervise and support staff at Band 5 and under grades
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and strategies relevant for the Memory Service
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively use available resources
- Co-ordinate day-to-day activities of caseload
- Analyse and respond to clinical situations
- Work within the Memory Operational Policy
- Maintain risk assessments for clinical caseload

Person Specification- Rmn Qualification - Essential: Qualification and active registration
- Knowledge of Memory Services - Desirable
- At least 2 years working as a nurse in healthcare or social care setting - Essential: 2 years
- Working with older people with mental health needs - Desirable
- Good assessment skills, the ability to assess risk and care plan effectively - Essential
- Good IT skills - Essential
- Ability to work as a member of MDT - Essential: 2 years
