As a Senior Volunteer Program Manager, you will oversee a dedicated team of volunteers focused on delivering impactful group sessions for women affected by domestic abuse. Your leadership will be essential in providing supervision, training, and recruitment of volunteers, ensuring the program's continuous growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to design and implement group activities tailored to meet the needs of clients.
- Ensure that clients receive a professional and coordinated response, providing them with current and relevant information.
- Take charge of all facets of volunteer recruitment, training, and development, ensuring a comprehensive induction process in line with organizational policies.
- Manage the daily administration and supervision of volunteers effectively.
- Facilitate group sessions for clients when necessary.
- Address safeguarding concerns appropriately, demonstrating a commitment to the welfare of vulnerable individuals.
- Ensure referrals are suitable or directed to appropriate services, with a focus on risk assessment and management strategies.
- Encourage client involvement in the planning, execution, and evaluation of group activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Full UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Educational background including GCSEs in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience in recruiting, training, managing, or mentoring volunteers or staff.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices and risk management, particularly in relation to domestic abuse.
- Proficient in ICT and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and time management abilities.
- Experience in delivering training or facilitating group work.
- Ability to work flexibly from home and various locations.
- Commitment to undergo a DBS check every three years.
