Job Overview

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Engineer Lead to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of wind turbine engineers to achieve project goals.
  • Review and analyze wind turbine supplier technical documentation and deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage wind turbine technical and interface aspects to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Make informed decisions on wind turbine technologies and technical configurations to optimize project outcomes.
  • Review and discuss technical schedules with turbine manufacturers to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Participate in design reviews and manufacturing meetings with suppliers and inspectors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Assist in clarifying technical queries and providing expert advice to project stakeholders.
  • Support in negotiating technical contracts with turbine manufacturers to ensure favorable terms.
  • Liaise with external professionals to provide technical expertise and project support in evaluating operational and performance issues.
  • Organize and lead conference calls with suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of wind turbine technology, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and offshore regulations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation associated with construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a high ethical standard.
  • Systematic and structured approach, with ability to prepare and deliver on plans.
  • Experience working in a team and delivering against targets and reporting.
  • Pro-active and diligent approach, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office systems and other IT-based project management software.
  • Experience using VMS management systems.
