Job PurposeThe Global Supplier Management & Sustainability Programs department is responsible for building and maintaining a sustainable and resilient supplier base across the DHL Group. This role will help ensure that environmental, social, and ethical (ESG) standards are integrated into relevant processes and accepted by suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor sustainability trends and market developments, analyzing their effectiveness and delivering recommendations for action to strengthen supplier sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to improve approach and develop sustainable procurement practices and standards, working with sourcing and purchasing organizations to initiate and embed sustainability practices.
- Help implement agreed standards and policies into relevant category and sourcing strategies, developing knowledge and expertise as a sustainability and responsible sourcing specialist.
- Promote good interdepartmental relations and contribute to establishing a professional and efficient department reputation.
- Participate in supplier meetings to explain sustainable procurement programs and gain buy-in, designing and driving initiatives to support the sustainability agenda.
- Conduct preliminary and follow-up supplier audits to ensure standards are met and necessary evidence/information is gathered.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, International Management, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability Studies, or equivalent qualification.
- 3+ years' experience in an international environment and in similar sustainability and responsible sourcing role.
- Knowledge and understanding of ESG supply chain risks and CSR guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data analytics, with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
- High level of organizational skills, with the ability to operate autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage time.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to direct multiple topics simultaneously.
- Ability to identify and solve problems, provide ideas on process improvement, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- International mindset and high level of cross-cultural awareness.
- Ability to think from a business perspective and bring others on the journey.
- Open to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
