About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welding Instructor to join our team at Babcock International Group. As an Apprentice Welding Instructor, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering work-based training for welding apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver Training Schemes of Works to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with Further Education providers to support college learning.
  • Support the wellbeing of apprentices, providing guidance on behaviour and escalating where required.
  • Work alongside welding engineers to design and deliver training to the welding team, ensuring standards and qualifications are maintained.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of STEM outreach sessions to attract new talent into Babcock.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety, instilling high standards and keeping apprentices safe.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and practical experience of welding with various processes.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of fabrication and plating techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Packages, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience in communicating and presenting to groups of people.

Qualifications

  • NVQ in welding and fabrication or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Education and Training (CTLLS) or equivalent, or completion within 18 months of appointment.
  • CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent (Certification scheme welding inspection personnel), desirable.

Security Clearance

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
