Welding Instructor

About the Role

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As an Apprentice Welding Instructor, you'll play a vital part in this mission by designing and delivering work-based training for welding apprentices at our Bristol site.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Training Schemes of Works to the highest standard.
• Collaborate with Further Education providers to support college learning.
• Support the wellbeing of apprentices, providing guidance on behaviour and escalating where necessary.
• Work alongside welding engineers to design and deliver training, ensuring standards and qualifications are maintained.
• Contribute to STEM outreach initiatives to attract new talent into Babcock.
• Oversee all aspects of Health & Safety, instilling high standards and keeping apprentices safe.

Essential Experience

• Knowledge and practical experience of welding with various processes.
• Knowledge and practical experience of fabrication and plating techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience in communicating and presenting to groups of people.

Qualifications

• NVQ in welding and fabrication or equivalent.
• Certificate in Education and Training (CTLLS) or equivalent, or completion within 18 months of appointment (desirable).
• CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent (Certification scheme welding inspection personnel) desirable.

Security Clearance

• The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
• Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions, affecting eligibility based on place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
