We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Interim Culinary Operations Manager to become a part of our team in a distinctive and rewarding role within an academic environment.
As an Interim Culinary Operations Manager , you will be instrumental in guaranteeing the efficient functioning of our school dining facilities during times of staff absence or heightened demand. Your responsibilities will include crafting high-quality meals, overseeing kitchen personnel, and upholding the utmost standards of food safety and hygiene.

This position is contracted for 42 weeks each year; there may be temporary roles available during term time at other locations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and preparing daily meals, ensuring dietary needs are addressed, and quality benchmarks are upheld.
  • Leading a culinary team in the preparation and delivery of meals.
  • Managing and monitoring the food budget to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Demonstrating enthusiasm and passion during service, with engaging interactions with all students.
  • Complying with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Developing diverse menus that inspire and cater to the preferences and dietary requirements of our student population.
  • Ordering and managing inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Supervising and training kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional atmosphere.
About You:
  • At least 2 years of experience in catering.
  • Strong understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Capable of managing a team and kitchen operations effectively.
  • Proficient in nutrition, portion control, meal planning, and preparation.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with students, staff, and suppliers.
  • A genuine passion for food and cooking, with a creative and innovative approach to menu development.
