Application Security Architect

As an Application Security Architect, you'll play a critical role in shaping our security architecture patterns, driving security implementation, and leading the adoption of security and privacy by-design principles. You'll work closely with our Application Security Solution Architecture team to develop and implement robust security measures, protecting our customers, partners, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security architecture patterns for cloud-native services, ensuring alignment with Tesco's cyber security strategy and industry standards.
- Drive security design decisions and guide security implementation for critical strategic systems, identifying security design flaws and technology weaknesses.
- Lead the adoption of security and privacy by-design principles with architects and development teams, ensuring seamless integration with our technology stack.
- Develop and maintain security standards for front-end and back-end technologies, providing guidance on secure application and web service development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring the integrity of our systems and data.
Requirements
- Proven experience in developing application security architecture patterns and design principles, with a strong understanding of cloud security and modern software architectures.
- Proficiency in threat modeling, security assessments, and technical security evaluations, with a focus on cloud-native services and advanced tech stacks.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker containers, and GitHub Actions (or other CICD frameworks), with a strong understanding of security implications and best practices.
- Knowledge of application security frameworks, security standards, and regulations, including OWASP, SANS Top 25, and GDPR.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and drive security initiatives across the organization.
