As an Application Security Architect, you'll play a key role in defining the security architecture patterns for our cloud-native services, developing security design artefacts, and leading the adoption of architectural patterns into development projects across the business.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security architecture designs for strategic platforms and systems, incorporating threat modelling and modern software architectures.
- Drive security architecture decisions and guide security implementation for critical systems, ensuring alignment with Tesco's cyber security strategy and industry standards.
- Lead the adoption of Security and Privacy by-Design principles with architects and development teams, promoting a culture of security and risk awareness.
- Develop application security architecture patterns, security design artefacts, and architecture standards, ensuring alignment with Tesco's cyber security strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Perform threat modelling for strategic application systems, identifying security design flaws and technology weaknesses, and defining security design requirements to address cyber threats.
- Influence decision makers to improve application architecture patterns and strengthen security, ensuring the protection of our customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Develop security standards for front-end and back-end technologies, providing guidance on secure application and web service development.
What You'll Need
- Experience in developing application security architecture patterns and design principles, with a strong understanding of cloud-native services and modern software architectures.
- Proficiency in Apps/API solution-level threat modelling and deep-dive technical security assessments, with a focus on identifying security design flaws and technology weaknesses.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker containers, and GitHub Actions (or other CICD frameworks), with a strong understanding of security implications and best practices.
- Knowledge of application security frameworks, securing front-end and back-end technologies, and a strong understanding of inherent application design flaws and gaps in different architectures.
- A strong understanding of modern SDLC methodologies and technologies, with a focus on security and risk awareness.
- Familiarity with application attack tactics and techniques (MITRE Framework), security maturity models (OpenSAMM, BSIMM), security frameworks (NIST CSF), security standards (OWASP, SANS Top 25), and regulations (GDPR, PA-DSS).
