About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Management Specialist to join our team at Savills Management Resources. As an Assistant Category Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a professional and consistent category management capability for our Hard Services category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Line Definition and Strategies: Define and develop appropriate Hard Services category strategies aligned with business needs, ensuring services are adequately specified to facilitate consistent service delivery and performance levels.
  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Support the category manager in identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers and contractors, fostering strategic partnerships to ensure high levels of service, quality, and competitiveness.
  • Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiations with service partners, preparing analysis to support negotiating positions and promoting value, lower costs, and higher service levels.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct category-related market research and analysis, researching new products, sourcing approaches, and services to incorporate relevant advancements into our sourcing strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and escalate improvement opportunities, supporting the category manager to assess and optimise reactive category sourcing processes, including service partner portfolio management and segmentation.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Identify, escalate, and support the category manager to mitigate material category-related risks and issues, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align Hard Services sourcing strategies with overall business objectives and needs, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Performance Monitoring: Support the creation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, monitoring Service Partner performance and introducing initiatives to enhance partnerships.
  • Systems and Data Integrity: Maintain and support the integrity of related technology systems and data, highlighting opportunities to improve performance and integrity.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with the ability to work across multiple categories.
  • Strong team player and collaborative worker, providing support to category managers and leveraging category management service line expertise.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills, with experience in reducing costs and improving service levels.
