About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at Quest Recruitment Ltd. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients' payrolls, providing advice and information to clients regarding SMP & SSP, and assisting in the management of a varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients' payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Offer expert advice and information to clients regarding SMP & SSP, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the management of a varied client portfolio, including smaller limited companies and companies with large weekly/monthly payrolls.
  • Process end-to-end payroll, including dealing with client queries and reviewing and checking all aspects of the payroll process.
  • Deal with HMRC PAYE/NI regarding queries, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Upload workplace pensions contributions to pension providers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • 3-4 years of industry payroll experience managing multiple payrolls for various sites/branches is essential OR 1-2 years of practice payroll experience within a payroll bureau, preferably in addition to industry payroll experience.
  • Good telephone manner and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in Office 365, with experience of payroll software such as Sage 50 Payroll, Brightpay, and IRIS.
