Key Responsibilities of the Financial Operations Leader

  • Direct the finance team, stepping in for essential operational tasks.
  • Provide interim support for the Finance Administrator role.
  • Supervise Purchase Ledger activities.
  • Ensure proper alignment of invoices with delivery documentation.
  • Secure necessary approvals for all outgoing payments.
  • Oversee livestock pricing and verify statements against purchase invoices.
  • Input Purchase Ledger invoices into the SAGE system and manage supplier disbursements.
  • Maintain the SAGE 200 platform, including the creation of new nominal codes.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts for both the company and its parent organization.
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and journal postings.
  • Calculate retrospective rebates for qualifying clients.
  • Reconcile and submit VAT returns accurately.
  • Generate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.
  • Oversee payroll functions with full accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal payroll requirements.
  • Manage modifications related to tax, social security, and employee benefits within the payroll system.
  • Conduct year-end payroll processes.
  • Provide necessary payroll information to regulatory bodies.
  • Administer the company’s pension scheme and related deductions.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all financial documentation.
  • Collect outstanding debts in accordance with company credit policies.
  • Ensure a comprehensive audit trail for credit control activities.
  • Provide payment details to clients as needed.
  • Ensure accurate representation of sales accounts in the sales ledger.
  • Timely allocate cash receipts to the appropriate accounts.
  • Complete trade references and evaluate risks associated with new and existing clients.
  • Manage legal aspects of debt recovery as necessary.
  • Handle various account types, including monthly, weekly, and cash on delivery.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card transactions.
  • Safeguard all cash transactions for the company.
  • Assist the Food Safety Manager with traceability documentation.
  • Complete government statistical reporting as required.
