Key Responsibilities:
  • **Provide Technical Expertise:**
    • Develop and implement fire safety strategies for buildings and other structures.
    • Conduct technical reviews and assessments of fire engineering projects.
    • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
  • **Lead the Fire Engineering Team:**
    • Manage and mentor a team of fire engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
    • Develop and implement team goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • **Business Development:**
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the fire engineering sector.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans.
  • **Quality and Compliance:**
    • Ensure that all fire engineering services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • **Education:**
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or similar field).
    • Postgraduate fire engineering qualification (Certificate, Diploma, Master's, or PhD).
  • **Experience:**
    • At least eight years' experience in fire safety engineering, preferably in the UK.
    • Proven track record of delivering fire engineering projects to high standards.
  • **Skills and Competencies:**
    • Strong knowledge of fire safety engineering principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet customer needs and changing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with regards to Microsoft Word/Outlook and Bluebeam.
  • Strong experience in structural fire engineering, or external wall system testing, or design and operation of healthcare facilities.
